Go to 80+ countries with IAESTE

We offer internships abroad to all students currently enrolled in a university in Berlin (not just students from the TU Berlin). You can apply for internships all year long. Though, the main application phase takes place between January and March of every year. Find an explanation of the different types of IAESTE internships here.

Let’s get started!

To apply for any IAESTE internship, you have to create an account on the Exchange Platform (www.iaeste.net) and upload the following documents in English to get the account verified. Without a verified account, you cannot apply to or see any of the internships. Do not send them to us via email. Verification is done manually. If your account hasn’t been verified after 3 days, feel free to contact us.

Language Certificates

We do not accept any certificates from high school. The certificate has to be from your time at university. It has to be no older than 2 years. We accept a variety of English certificates. If you are short on time, we recommend the Duolingo English Certificate (€40) or signing up for your university’s language department’s English test. Most internships expect a B2 in English. If you are considering a Spanish-speaking country, you will most likely need a Spanish language certificate as well. Native speakers still need to provide a language certificate.

Certificate of Enrollment

Has to be from the current semester and fully in English. If your university does not offer an English transcript, contact your university’s international office and ask about the possibility of translation. You have to be an enrolled student for the application and for the entire duration of the internship.

CV

Keep it to about one page, mention relevant experience for the internship(s) you are interested in. It has to be entirely in English.

Transcript of Records

Has to be from the current semester and fully in English. If your university does not offer an English transcript, contact your university’s international office and ask about the possibility of translation. You have to be in at least the 3rd semester to apply to an IAESTE internship. If you are in your Master’s, and didn’t get your examination results yet, you can upload your Bachelor’s transcript.

Types of Internships: Exchange and Global Internships

Depending on the time of the year, you can apply to different types of internships. Global Internships are available on the Exchange Platform all year long. Check them out right now (if you have a verified account)!
Global (formerly AC) internships are only offered between January and March in the main application phase. The application process is a little bit more complicated. As long as you have a verified account on the Exchange Platform, we will update you on the individual application steps via E-Mail. See an in-depth explanation in slides below.

Double-check the internship dates and language requirements. They are not negotiable. Everything sounds good? For Global Internships, write us an email with your top 3 favorite internships. Once we assign you to an internship, you can apply (see a guide below). Please note that you can only apply to one internship at a time. If you are rejected from an internship, you are allowed to apply for another one.
You are not allowed to contact the company before they accept you!
